Woodworm

Woodworm or common furniture beetle is a serious pest of structural timber and furniture, long standing infestations may cause serious weakening.

The eggs are placed in the cracks and crevices, an average of around 30 eggs are laid per female. Two to four weeks later the eggs have hatched and the young larvae bore into the wood.

Both soft and hard woods are attacked but they do tend to prefer soft woods.
